The Malcolm Youth Sports Association believes that fostering a healthy lifestyle for our young athletes goes beyond just practice and competition. Sun care and proper nutrition play crucial roles in their overall performance and well-being. Protecting their skin from harmful UV rays is essential, as prolonged sun exposure can lead to skin damage and increase the risk of skin cancer later in life. We encourage all parents and guardians to prioritize sun safety by applying sunscreen, providing UV-protective clothing, and ensuring athletes stay hydrated throughout their activities.

Equally important is the role of nutrition in enhancing athletic performance. A balanced diet rich in essential nutrients fuels young bodies, improves stamina, and aids in recovery. We recommend that parents work with their young athletes to establish healthy eating habits that support their active lifestyles.
